Legion — Riftbound Rules
Legion is a Dependent Keyword. Legion is functionally short for “If you have played another card this turn, this card gains [Text].”

- Legion is a Dependent Keyword.
- 812.1.a.
- It is formatted as "[Legion][>] [Text]".
- 812.1.b.
- Starting from the Keyword to the end of the clause, the entire statement is the Legion Ability.
- 812.1.b.1.
- Legion is functionally short for “If you have played another card this turn, this card gains [Text].”
- 812.1.b.2.
- The [Text] is the Dependent Ability.
- 812.1.c.
- As long as a card different than the one with the Legion ability has been Finalized by you on the same turn then the Dependent Ability is Active on the card with Legion.
- 812.2.
- All instances of Legion on cards a player controls are satisfied by that player playing a single card. Example: One card has three different Legion Abilities. The Legion Text of all three abilities will be active as long as one card has been finalized by the card's controller earlier in the same turn.
- 812.3.
- Legion, and whether or not a card has Legion, is a characteristic of the card and may be checked or referenced by other Game Effects.

Do I get my Legion effect when I play a token or use an ability?
No, Legion will only be active if you've played a card this turn. Tokens are not cards, and abilities aren't either.
When I hide a card, does that count for Legion?
Hiding isn't playing, and doesn't count as playing a card for abilities like Legion.
Can I use Sun Disc's ability the turn I play it, counting itself for its Legion ability?
Yes. Although Legion normally requires “another" card for spells and play effects, Sun Disc's activated ability is not Sun Disc. On subsequent turns, you'll need to play another card to turn on Legion.
If I gain control of my opponent's Stupefy with Rebuttal, does Ravenbloom Student trigger? What do Battering Ram and Legion see?
Ravenbloom Student triggers (twice, counting your Rebuttal) because it checks whether a spell you control resolves — and the stolen Stupefy resolved under your control. Battering Ram and Legion instead check who finalized cards: you never finalized Stupefy, so your Battering Ram only gets a discount for the cards you finalized yourself, and your opponent's Legion abilities remain active.
